HERE IS THE ORIGIN OF THE NAME YANKEE INDIA

YANKEE INDIA The name is pure coincidence ...

In 1992, after several meetings for the establishment of the group, the latter would be good
accompanied by a dozen friends, all agreed the group, the office is set up but!

No name for this association that was born?
After several negative propositions, we decided that everyone gives a figure. By adding
figures as at school, we rely on the alphabet:

This is the letter "Y" which is then released "Yankee".

Everyone agreed, but he had a second, after several names suggested the future president "INDIA" which goes very well with "YANKEE".

The dx group was born, many people laugh.

But after all these years, the DX YANKEE GROUP INDIA is always there.

My greatest pleasure is to have in our association a sacred band of friends.

The Citizen Band is a phenomenon that comes from the United States. Appearing in 50 years, BC has emerged as a curious coincidence, due to overproduction of electronics at the end of the Second World War. Given the enormous amount of posts transceivers military bloomed in all the rest of the U.S. military, a growing number of hackers got interested.
The Cibi soon then appear as radios cobbled from parts taken from items dumped. As for the frequency band of 27MHz which avaitété chosen, there was a band "Garbage" unusable for professional connections because of perturbationsque found there (interference caused, for example, the radiology medical devices .
The Cibi was initially considered a hobby of some kind. Then truckers U.S. measured the enormous benefits. these small transceivers were a great way to break the loneliness during long journeys across the American continent.
After a golden period resulting in a strong growth of around 75 years, the phenomenon tended to stabilize. It was then that the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) imposed stricter standards on the technical but also more functional. Positions of 23 channels requiring a swarm of quartz, some one is going to more modern technology positions PLL (Phase Loop Loocked). There ensued a rather difficult period in trade, in which the old "23 channels" were sold off, while new "40 channels" were conducting a timid breakthrough.
In France, the band of citizens that has actually existed from the years 1974 1975 as previously, only a few were marginal on the 27MHz devices with which they had brought across the Atlantic. Until the end of 1980, the French market is expanding strongly. No standard exists and there is a real wave transceivers increasingly attractive and comprehensive: several bands of 40 channels available to dispose of 240 different frequencies, transmission power adjustable and can sometimes reach more than thirty watts, with, in some cases, frequency meters incorporated.
More and more opportunities were available to the user and the authorities decided to act.
In November 1980, the administration banned all entries in France Cibi equipment. A standard is published in the month of December. NFC 92411 standard allows only 22 channels in FM and with only 2 Watts. That protest and general items "old standard" continue to operate "under the cloak."
In 1982, the standard is "canceled" on procedural grounds. The PTT then passed an interim agreement with the importers to allow them to market devices with 40 channels, under a provisional approval of sale.
Early in the year 1983 appears the NFC 92412 standard allowing 40 channels in AM / FM / SSB with a maximum transmission power of 4 watts peak.
Still, the beginning of the year 1992 was marked by a small revolution in the field of regulation. Indeed, the old statement from 1982, was replaced by a decree of March 31, 1992. It makes some changes to the conditions of use of CB stations in France. But the main innovation lies in removing doubt from the individual license (valid for 5 years, it was issued by ACTEL, with a payment of 190F) which is replaced by a tax levied directly on the purchase. This new provision applies to items purchased from 1 January 1992.
